Fairytale of New York

"You took my dreams from me when I first found you"

"I kept them with me babe. I kept them with my own. Can't make it all alone, I built my dreams around you."

A more personal direction

So, I made a bunch of videos before I left for the weekend thinking I would post them to inform you that I was not going to blog for a good 4 days. Not like there are many followers anyway.. Well according to my page there are 0. It's all good though.

Anyway, the reason I didn't blog just so happened to be that I did not have any access to internet. Which ended a lot better than I thought. Let me outline the last few days for you.

THIS WEEKEND = 2 day old garlic bread, lingerie and JACK DANIELS

Thursday:

I had a really big paragraph here. But I figured I would slim it down for you.
- FUCK YOU 18
- 7A bus your my new best friend.
- bus bus bus train car ride
- home. perfect. bed. jesse.

Friday:

This one can be clumped all in one. Basically I slept in a bit, got up around 9 and got my stuff together for pictures with other Stacey. Did that, got back home around 11. Started drinking around 1pm for Jesses birthday. The night is a blur, but I gave Jesse his presents and he loved them. It was perfect, and just what he needed. A little bit of the family-love feel, and best friends. I thrived off his pure happiness, the smile on his face brings tears to my eyes. But, enough of the sappy stuff because I will start crying. (sucks back tears).  We had an amazing night with everyone.

Saturday/Sunday:

Jesse got up a bit earlier then I did, 10am, I apparently felt like I got hit in the head with a couple bricks so sleeping til 3pm was a MUST.
We laid in bed all day, Jesse didn't feel good. But it was again.. perfect. Very nice to just chill and enjoy each others presence.
Sunday went about the same, Jesse felt really sick so he had to call in for work, we laid in bed all day. Soon enough it was time for me to be at the train station. Saying bye.

I am going to write something tomorrow that is a little more personal for once. I won't do it much a swear. Just gotta sleep now.
Night all!

Orange you glad I didn't say banana

Complete boredom.

So, this may look like a regular orange. But it isn't.

I completely destroyed it's insides.

Sadly pictures do not do it justice.

But just picture an orange. Without all the hardness inside. It's like a ball. But feels way cooler. This is pointless. But pretty much has consumed me for the last 30 minutes..

Some things I have realized.

1. Do not trust people to do your dishes for you.

Example: Say, you drink a glass of orange juice and choose to leave it in your roo m for a few days. The orangey-acidy-ness just lurking in the bottom on the cup. You soon choose to bring it downstairs. About 3 days, you return to wash that cup. In turn, you see that it is upside-down drying. What a relief! No dishes, right?
WRONG.
OH SO WRONG
So, being an idiot, I put some ice cubes and pepsi into the cup. Go sit down to enjoy the sandwich I constructed wonderfully. (Thanks to Jesse who has taught me ho w to put it together so it does NOT fall apart). And...
I finish about half the glass. And as I drink, I notice a thick, orange circle peeling off the bottom of the cup while I drink.
Now, seeing this I start tasting it in my mouth.
Ending in.... STACEY doing her own dishes from now on. Roomies.. well. ONE of my roomies. I don't trust you. (anthony you are kickass)

2. The sandwich.
Just because you are starving does not mean you can eat 2 sandwiches, Stacey.
Cheese, Mayo, Bologna, Egg, Lettuce, Tomatoes... Delicious. But too much.

3. Everyone is so consumed by HISTORY BEING MADE! Yes, Barack you are president. But, has no one heard of the fraud? Holy Steven Harper... Hah, just kidding.
It was on MSN news though. Because it's taking me YEARS to obtain this article, (my friend is now looking for it)..
We did find this though, check out the debates at the bottom of the video (found by anthony, thanks thanks!)

That just so happens to be all I have learned today.
Other than, apparently I should be a mind reader and know when meetings are for my group, because telling me is too much effort.

PS:
Anthony also found this, if it helps you compare a bit more.

Hello Barack!

Well well well, who is surprised? Certainly not me. Yes, the States made history, first black president. Grats! But I would like to talk about a subject that hits home a little more.

Of course, being in journalism I follow all elections. So lets do a little comparison.

This year, 2008 Prime Minister election, Canada had the lowest percentage of registered voters ever recorded in Canadian election history. Americans? The voter turn out was 64%, the highest in the last 100 years. (Associated Press.. 2008-11-05)

What's the deal Canada?
Is it because we don't have interesting characters like Sarah Palin, John McCain, Joseph Biden and Barack Obama? Perhaps we need our first coloured Prime Minister?
We get shafted with people like Stephen Harper, Stephane Dion (GONE! Happy liberals?), Jack Layton and Elizabeth May. Actually, take Elizabeth May out of there. I think she's a sweetie.

When we were talking about this in News Writing today the fact came up that we vote for party candidates and not the people themselves. While directly on your ballet in the US it will say Barack Obama and John McCain. Maybe we need to change this, or at least make it a little more apparent that in the end the Prime Minister is the one that gets the say.. or at least from what I understand of it.
Gah.... Canada..... get some more interesting characters.

My small rant.

I'm trying to work on my resume, I am probably going to post it up here when I am done.
Just I have a lot of projects for schoolllll... procrastination.

"Get your Warhol on"

Today there was an article in Conestoga College's SPOKE about the Andy Warhol art exhibition and sale. I actually found out about it from Qatalust blog.
But I am planning, if I end up spending the weekend in KW, to attend. Maybe get some nice art for my plain room that currently has a map of Cambridge, and KW area. Sigh.

Anyway, for today.. I need to go shopping. Bus, Home... Bus.. I would actually rather ride the bus then deal with the conflicting road battles of cars. Plus, my bus pass for school is super handy.

Bitch and Qatalyst

Recruit me!

Hah, I am looking into magazine publications that would love a student to do bitch work. Unfortunately BITCH is based in Portland, Maine. The more I say bitch the more comfortable I become with saying it in every sentence. So, my bitch-of-a-sister is moving to Maine for about 6 months. I am considering working my way down there at some point during a week I have off, visits and then perhaps seeing BITCH in action.

They just actually went through a tough time with fundraising but according to their wiener they have achieved much more than what they needed for a new issue of BITCH. They raised over 40,000 dollars. Intense.

...:(
Now, as I am browsing their website I have now realized they are looking for interns. God damn you Canada. Your lucky I like your free health care.

On a happy note. My sister, who is no longer considered a bitch (because she reads this and LOVES when I use such words) introduced me to Qatalyst. I am looking into applying there for an internship. Wishing, hoping and praying that they want an intern. But, of course thats once I get an updated copy of my resume.

Other than that....
I am so sick of being sick randomly. Cmon weather. Just gimme a little more sunshine before winter.
